Traffic Restrictions in Akihabara Area for Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Marathon
Due to the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships Marathon, significant traffic regulations will be in place in central Tokyo, including the Akihabara area, on September 14th (Sun) and 15th (Mon, Holiday), 2025.
Impact on Akihabara Chuo Dori
Chuo Dori, the main street of Akihabara Electric Town, will be part of the marathon course, serving as a turning point at the intersection with Kanda Myojin Dori. Consequently, pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be prohibited on the course section during the following times:
- September 14 (Sun): 7:10 AM - 10:25 AM
- September 15 (Mon, Holiday): 7:10 AM - 10:10 AM
Please follow detour instructions during the restricted hours.
Event and Transportation Impacts
- The Chuo Dori pedestrian paradise on September 14th will be canceled.
- During the traffic control period, the Toei Bus "Cha 51" route between Akihabara Station and Ochanomizu Station, as well as the Chiyoda Ward "Fuguruma" community bus, will be suspended.
