In April 2026, Matsuzakaya Nagoya is pleased to announce a series of kimono events to welcome the spring season. Discover traditional Japanese attire and immerse yourself in art.

Featured Events

"Gotsukimeichi" by Nagamochiya

From April 1st (Wed) to 3rd (Fri), the "Gotsukimeichi" sale at Nagamochiya (Main Building 6F, Kimono Reuse) will feature a selection of affordable kimonos and obi. It's a great opportunity to find unique pieces.

Shin Exhibition "LIFE IS A GIFT"

From April 1st (Wed) to 7th (Tue), GENTA THE STAGE (North Building 1F) will host an exhibition of works by Art Brut artist Shin. Experience his vibrant world of intuitive colors and powerful expressions. A live painting session is scheduled for April 4th (Sat).

"Edo no Iki" by Chikusen & Hamana Takatora

From April 15th (Wed) to 21st (Tue), GENTA THE STAGE (North Building 1F) will showcase "Edo no Iki" (The Spirit of Edo). This event features yukata fabrics and Edo komon from the long-established Chikusen brand, alongside stylish accessories from Hamana Takatora, embodying the essence of traditional Edo craftsmanship.

Children's Kimono New Collection 2026' & Parent-Child Yukata Order Fair

From April 15th (Wed) to May 12th (Tue), the Children's Kimono floor (Main Building 6F) presents the latest collection of children's kimonos and a custom yukata order service for parents and children. Find the perfect attire for special occasions.

Additionally, a watercolor class by Masaru Inoue will be held on May 3rd (Sun) in the event space on the 6th floor of the Main Building.
