Special Exhibition "The Sexes of Living Things" at National Museum of Nature and Science
Special exhibition "The Sexes of Living Things" opens at the National Museum of Nature and Science, exploring the diversity of sex in life. Runs from Oct 31, 2026, to Feb 21, 2027.
The National Museum of Nature and Science will host the special exhibition "The Sexes of Living Things."
The Astonishing World of "Sex" in Living Organisms
"Sex" is not exclusive to humans but is a fundamental theme common to all living beings. While many creatures are divided into males and females to reproduce, their forms, mechanisms, and behaviors exhibit astonishing diversity. There are numerous examples that defy our imagination, such as creatures whose sex changes during growth or whose sex is determined by environmental factors.
This exhibition, the first for the National Museum of Nature and Science to focus on "sex," scientifically unravels the diversity of sexual forms in living things from various perspectives, including morphology, behavior, sex determination, and parenting.
