Miraikan presents "Science Communicator Talks" on various topics like nature, space, sleep, and quantum computing. Each ~15 min talk is free with museum admission. Held daily.
The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) hosts "Science Communicator Talks," engaging sessions designed to explore diverse topics impacting our lives, society, the Earth, and the universe. These talks, led by science communicators, are accessible with just the museum's admission fee.
The program features several intriguing sessions:
- "Can Money Save the Earth? ~What if we Put a Price on Nature's Gifts?": This talk delves into the value of natural resources and the potential of financial mechanisms to address environmental issues.
- "Whose Martian Property Is It Anyway?": Join "Kase-maru-kun," a Martian guide, to explore the future of space exploration, focusing on the possibilities of utilizing resources on the Moon and Mars.
- "'Sleepyhead' Research! ~Let's Get Along with Your Sleepiness": Investigate the mysteries of drowsiness and learn how to better manage it, exploring the science behind our internal clocks and genes.
- "Momotaro Meets the Quantum Computer": Through the familiar tale of Momotaro, this session introduces the fundamental concepts of quantum computers, such as superposition and quantum algorithms.
Each talk lasts approximately 15 minutes and requires no reservation, with seating available for about 20 participants (standing room also available).
