The Akihabara Electric Town Promotion Association held its New Year's Reception for Reiwa 8 on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at "Takachiho" in Tokyo Garden Palace. The event welcomed supporting members, local dignitaries, related organizations, and members of the press.
Following opening remarks by Chairman Kazushi Ono, a congratulatory speech was given by Mr. Takaaki Higuchi, Mayor of Chiyoda Ward, representing the local dignitaries. Greetings were also offered by Mr. Kunihito Ota from Panasonic Marketing Japan Co., Ltd., representing the supporting members, and Mr. Sadashi Oyama from Sharp Marketing Japan Co., Ltd. gave the toast, leading to a successful reception.
During the networking session, Vice Chairman Kenji Nakaji hosted a lively rock-paper-scissors tournament that involved all attendees. Miss Akiba Miyu Otose also appeared for greetings and a commemorative photo session. Mr. Shingo Suzuki from Toshiba Consumer Marketing Corporation delivered the closing remarks, and General Affairs Committee Chairman Funatsu expressed gratitude for the past year and requested continued support for the current year before the event concluded.
