Kyoto International Creators Award 2025 Launched to Support Future Creators

The City of Kyoto and the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair Executive Committee are proud to announce the "Kyoto International Creators Award 2025." This initiative aims to discover and nurture aspiring manga artists and anime creators. The award features two main contests: a Comic Contest and a Digital Animation Contest. Winners will have their works promoted to companies and international media, with opportunities for professional debuts.

Contest Details

Themes are open. Submissions in manuscript (name) form are accepted if artwork is not yet complete.

Participants will create artwork based on two pages of manuscript (name) to be released later. Submitting only one page after inking is also possible.

Both divisions encourage originality in character design and line work.

Awards & Benefits

The Story Manga Division will select one Grand Prize winner, one Runner-up, and three Honorable Mentions. The Drawing Division will award one Honorable Mention. Winners will receive prize money and be invited to an award ceremony scheduled for mid-November in Kyoto.

Application Period

Submissions for both the Comic Contest and the Digital Animation Contest are open until 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Past awards have seen numerous winners from overseas achieve professional debuts worldwide, making this a significant opportunity for creators. We encourage you to participate!
