CENRETA ART AWARD 2026 Thailand+Japan : Exhibition in Nagoya

Nagoya is set to host a vibrant international art exhibition! "CENRETA ART AWARD 2026 Thailand+Japan : Exhibition in Nagoya" will showcase the impressive works of students from Japan and Thailand at Matsuzakaya Nagoya.

International Exchange Through Art

The "CENRETA ART AWARD" is an international art competition celebrating the creativity of students in Japan and Thailand. This year's theme, "EXCHANGE," has inspired a diverse range of 47 finalist pieces, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos, and digital art. These works explore relationships and cross-border perspectives in contemporary society.

Top honors include Nozomi Kubota's video "AI's Silent Omissions" (Grand Prize), Mami Okamoto's photograph "A Fish Out of Water" (Excellence Award), and Lily Onga's video "Animated Receipt: Recorded in Kappabashi" (Jury's Special Prize).

Concurrent Events

Alongside the award exhibition, Matsuzakaya Nagoya's Main Building 8th floor will feature "HIROTO RAKUSHO Solo Exhibition 'Mede-Thai,'" exploring the spiritual and aesthetic memories of Japan and Thailand. Furthermore, on May 16th and 17th, the "Thai Festival in Nagoya 2026" will take place in the adjacent Hisaya Odori Park, offering a chance to experience Thai culture and cuisine. A stamp rally connects these events.
