August Workshops at Tsurumai Park: Moss Terrarium & Mosaic Tile Classes

Various workshops will be held at the Nagoya City Greenery Center, 2nd floor lecture room, within Tsurumai Park in Showa Ward, Nagoya, from August 1st to August 31st, 2026. These events offer opportunities to engage with nature and art, focusing on workshops suitable for families during summer break.

Craft Experiences for Summer Study Projects

On Saturday, August 1st, a "Moss Terrarium Making with Bamboo" workshop will take place in the afternoon. Participants will create their own moss gardens inside bamboo containers. This class is recommended for children from toddlers to elementary school students and their guardians, with a capacity for 16 groups. Taught by Kōkō Suzuki, the material fee is 1000 yen, making it an ideal activity for summer study projects.

The following day, Sunday, August 2nd, also in the afternoon, features the "Parent-Child Mosaic Tile Class Fountain Tower Key Hook Plate." This popular annual class involves creating a key hook plate inspired by the iconic Fountain Tower of Tsurumai Park, which can also be used as a calendar. Mosaic tile artist Shinji Ohira will instruct the session, with a material fee of 1000 yen and a capacity for 20 groups. The application deadline for both workshops is July 20th, but inquiries are welcome for any remaining spots after the deadline.
