Sendai PARCO x BiVi x Aqua Ignis Joint Tanabata Event Aug 3-8

A joint Tanabata event will be held at Sendai PARCO, in collaboration with BiVi Sendai Station East Exit and Aqua Ignis Sendai, from Monday, August 3rd to Saturday, August 8th, 2026. Located at 1-2-3 Chuo, Aoba-ku, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, this event aims to celebrate Sendai's summer traditions and foster cultural exchange.

A Special Tanabata Collaboration

The event will feature a special venue on the 9th floor of PARCO1, where visitors can write their wishes on tanzaku (strips of paper) and tie them to bamboo branches set up at each participating facility. This offers a unique opportunity for both local residents and tourists to engage with Sendai's traditional Tanabata festival.

Cultural Exchange with Taiwan

A distinctive aspect of this event is the international dimension. After the exhibition period, the bamboo branches with the wish-filled tanzaku from all three venues will be sent to Taiwan. They are scheduled to be displayed at the Lantern Festival in Tainan City, Taiwan, in February 2027. This initiative is expected to promote Sendai's Tanabata culture globally and strengthen friendly relations with Taiwan.
