25th ROX☆KIDS Painting/Illustration Contest Now Accepting Entries at Asakusa ROX

Asakusa ROX is hosting the "25th ROX☆KIDS Painting and Illustration Contest," inviting children aged 3 to 6th grade to submit their creative works. This annual event encourages young artists to explore the theme "Asakusa's Year Past and Present." The contest offers a fantastic opportunity for children to showcase their talent, with winning entries to be exhibited at Asakusa ROX, and awards including certificates and prizes.

About the Contest

The competition features two categories: Painting and Illustration. For the Painting category, works created using paints are welcomed, while the Illustration category accepts works made with colored pencils, crayons, Posca pens, and similar materials. The required paper size for all submissions is B4 (approx. 27cm x 38cm). Participants must clearly write their name and chosen category on the back of their artwork. The submission period runs from October 9, 2026 (Friday) to November 8, 2026 (Sunday).

Submission, Exhibition, and Awards

Entries can be submitted in person at the Asakusa ROX 1st Floor Information Desk or mailed to the contest secretariat at: 1-25-15 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo 111-0032, Asakusa ROX "25th ROX☆KIDS Painting and Illustration Contest" Secretariat. It is recommended to attach a backing board to prevent the artwork from bending during transit. The contest results will be announced via mail around mid-December 2026. Award-winning pieces will be displayed at the ROX 5th Floor Family Gallery from December 11, 2026 (Friday) to January 11, 2027 (Monday, holiday). An awards ceremony is planned for late January 2027, with invitations sent to the winners.

Artwork Return and Important Notes

Award-winning artworks are expected to be returned during the awards ceremony. Non-winning entries can be collected from the Asakusa ROX 1st Floor Information Desk between December 11, 2026 (Friday) and January 31, 2027 (Sunday). Please note that artwork cannot be returned by mail, and unclaimed pieces will not be kept after the designated period. Some winning works may be used for ROX's New Year's posters or the TOC Group's New Year's cards. The names, ages, grades, and schools of awardees may be publicly disclosed in connection with these uses. By submitting an entry, participants agree to these terms.
