Make a "Earth BOX" Globe: Nagoya Science Museum Event

The Nagoya City Science Museum will host the "Make an Earth BOX" event on August 1st and 2nd, 2026. The core of the event is crafting a "Earth BOX," a six-sided papercraft globe featuring intricate seafloor maps. Through this creative process, attendees can visualize the vastness of the ocean floor and learn about its geological history. The event also utilizes a "3D Seafloor Topography Map of Japan and Surrounding Areas" to provide a closer look at the complex underwater features and characteristic terrain around Japan, where tectonic plates converge.

Learn Oceanography in a Fun Way

Co-organized by the Fourth Regional Coast Guard Headquarters and the Nagoya City Science Museum, this event is open to all ages. Children in 2nd grade and below are encouraged to attend with a guardian, making it a great family activity.
