【9月13日開催】FUJI鉄道ひろば「B6運転体験」について

The FUJI Railway Plaza, located in the outdoor exhibition area (southeast side) of the Nagoya City Science Museum, will host the 'B6 Operation Experience' on Sunday, September 13, 2026. This event offers a unique opportunity to operate the B6 steam locomotive by controlling the throttle handle, equivalent to a car's accelerator, and actually move its driving wheels. Participants can experience the sounds and vibrations of the driving wheels from the driver's cab, gaining a hands-on understanding of railway mechanics.

The operation experience is divided into two sessions. Session A runs from 10:10 AM to 12:10 PM with a capacity of 24 groups. Session B takes place from 1:20 PM to 3:10 PM, accommodating 22 groups. Each group can consist of up to 4 people, and the experience duration is 5 minutes per group. Free Participation Events Also Available

In addition to the driving experience, several events open to the public are prepared for railway enthusiasts. The 'Kifusha No. 344,' which carried imperial escorts, and a Nagoya City tram, which was previously inaccessible from the inside, will be open for viewing. Visitors can explore the interiors of these vehicles as well as admire their exteriors, experiencing the atmosphere of a bygone era. The 'Kifusha' and city tram viewing will be available from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Furthermore, live commentary by volunteers knowledgeable about railways will be provided. Explanations for the B6 steam locomotive will be held at 12:10 PM and 3:10 PM.
