Teacher's Experiment Workshop (Refresh Science Class) at Nagoya City Science Museum

Nagoya City Science Museum hosts a free experiment workshop for teachers on Aug 7, 2026. Participants will learn 2 hands-on science activities. Pre-registration required.

The "Teacher's Experiment Workshop (Refresh Science Class)" will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Nagoya City Science Museum (2-17-1 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture). This workshop is designed for teachers from elementary, junior high, and special needs schools to experience hands-on science experiments that can be incorporated into their lessons.

Participants will engage in two distinct types of experiments. The first is "Floating Images? Parabola Dome," where participants can witness the illusion of objects appearing to float within a dome-shaped screen using an LED. The accompanying stand can also be used as a lantern. The second is "Rainbows Around Shadows? Sparkling Screen," which recreates a phenomenon similar to the Brocken Spectre, allowing participants to experience seeing a rainbow-like halo around their shadow indoors.

Through these activities, educators can deepen their understanding of scientific principles in an engaging way and gain practical ideas for their teaching. The Nagoya City Science Museum is an indoor facility, ensuring a comfortable experience regardless of weather. The workshop will take place in the laboratory on the 6th floor of the Life Science Building. Participation is free of charge, with a capacity of 30 attendees. A lottery will be held if applications exceed the limit.

Interested teachers must apply via the Nagoya City Electronic Application Service. The application deadline is Friday, July 17, 2026 (must arrive by this date). For further details, please refer to the official Nagoya City Science Museum website or contact the venue at TEL 052-201-4486.
