Experience Being a Life Engineer: Medical Device Operation Event in Nagoya
Experience "Life Engineer" event at Nagoya City Science Museum. Operate medical devices and learn about clinical engineering. June 27-28, 2026.
The Nagoya City Science Museum will host "Let's Operate Hospital Machines! -Experience Life Engineer-" (8th Edition) from June 27th to 28th, 2026.
This event offers a unique opportunity to learn about the work of "Clinical Engineers (Life Engineers)" who are vital in hospitals. Through four simulated booths – Medical Equipment Management Room, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Operating Room, and Dialysis Center – visitors can see and operate various medical devices not usually accessible.
In the Medical Equipment Management Room, you can try measuring vital signs, operating an electric knife, and using an AED. The ICU booth features experiences with ventilators and IABP. The Operating Room offers hands-on practice with cardiopulmonary bypass machines and endoscopic surgery simulators. At the Dialysis Center, you can try ultrasound diagnostics and simulated puncture.
Each hands-on experience is first-come, first-served and takes about 3 minutes. The event also includes guided tours, photo opportunities with real surgical equipment, and a quiz/stamp rally.
