Matsuzakaya Yukata 2026: Summer Fashion Event in Nagoya

Matsuzakaya Nagoya Store, located at 3-16-1 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, will host "Matsuzakaya Yukata 2026" this summer. This event celebrates the yukata, Japan's iconic summer attire, presenting high-quality options suitable not only for traditional summer festivals but also for sophisticated outings like visiting museums or cafes.

The event is divided into two phases. The first phase runs from June 17 (Wed) to August 3 (Mon), 2026, at the Organ Plaza on the 1st floor of the South Building. The second phase takes place from August 4 (Tue) to August 11 (Tue), 2026, in the Event Space on the 6th floor of the Main Building. Both venues are open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with the final day of the South Building event closing at 6:00 PM and the Main Building event at 5:00 PM.

Throughout the event period, various workshops and presentations will enhance the yukata experience. On July 5 (Sun), a kimono concierge will offer a "One-Rank-Up Yukata Self-Hair and Obi Tying" workshop. July 12 (Sun) will feature a yukata fashion show by Nanzan University and Vantan Design Institute, followed by a "Simple & Stylish NEO Yukata Style & Obi Tying Techniques" session by Kobayashi Toyoko Kimono Gakuin on July 19 (Sun). Additionally, a special limited-time pop-up by "Chikusen," known for its Edo craftsmanship, will be available from July 22 (Wed) to July 28 (Tue).

Showcasing yukata coordinated for various occasions, the event uses locations like the Furukawa Museum and its Tamesaburo Memorial Museum annex as backdrops. Featured yukata include a beautiful gradient shibori yukata (from ¥99,000), a striking blue yukata with peony motifs (from ¥49,500), an elegant ivory yukata with hydrangeas and goldfish (from ¥49,500), and a refined yukata with camellia flowers suitable for art appreciation (from ¥52,800).
