Matsuzakaya Nagoya Summer Event: Learn, Enjoy, and Enjoy the Night

Matsuzakaya Nagoya Department Store in Sakae, Nagoya, will host a special summer event titled "Matsuzakaya no Natsuyasumi. - Learn, Enjoy, and Enjoy the Night - Event Edition" from July 20 (Mon, holiday) to August 25, 2026. This event aims to offer a variety of experiences for children and adults alike, allowing them to learn, have fun, and enjoy the summer evening atmosphere during their summer vacation.

Throughout the event period, a "Uchimizu" (water sprinkling) experience, a traditional summer custom, will be available at the East Eaves of the Main Building 1st Floor. Along with this refreshing activity, original fans that can also be used as rally sheets will be presented to members of the Daimaru Matsuzakaya app. These fans are limited to the first 1,000 visitors.

The event also features a rich lineup of workshops focused on learning. On July 25 (Sat), a "Let's Explore the Ancient World! Copal Observation Workshop" will be held, where participants can examine copal fossils and create their own specimens. Aimed at elementary school students to junior high school students, this workshop encourages exploration of ancient insect and plant traces using a microscope. On the same day, a "Let's Touch the Secrets of Fish! "Midori Fusa Anglerfish" Taxidermy Workshop with a Taxidermist" will be conducted with Mr. Hikaru Maejiro, a specialist in fish taxidermy. This offers a valuable opportunity to learn about fish anatomy while experiencing professional taxidermy. Both workshops require advance reservation.

For enjoying summer nights, the "Roof Top Night Acoustic Event" will take place on August 1 (Sat) at the rooftop amusement park of the Main Building. This is a special occasion to enjoy acoustic live music and refreshments while feeling the summer night breeze. Soft drinks will be offered to members of the Daimaru Matsuzakaya app.

Additionally, to create summer vacation memories, several events are planned for children. From August 1 (Sat) to August 2 (Sun), the "Double Member Exclusive Kids Summer Style Photo Event" will be held for customers who spend a certain amount on children's clothing. Professional photographers will be on hand to capture special commemorative photos. On August 8 (Sat) and 9 (Sun), a "Double Member Exclusive Fun Lottery" will be held for those who make purchases of ¥22,000 or more in designated departments on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors of the Main Building. Furthermore, on August 8 (Sat) and 9 (Sun), the "Chibikko Geidai 'Let's Make an Ocean Creature Keychain! '" will be held on the 5th floor, allowing children to enjoy art freely. Participation is free.

As a culinary event, on August 15 (Sat), a "Create Your Own Unique Granola!" workshop will be held in collaboration with Tokai Junior and Senior High School. Participants will create original granola blends using upcycled spent grains from beer brewing, learning about food loss and nutrition.

Other activities, such as a "Children's Festival," are also planned, ensuring that Matsuzakaya Nagoya offers a wide range of enjoyable programs for the entire family throughout the summer vacation.
