Predicting Future Bird Migration with Science at Miraikan
Miraikan hosts an event to predict migratory bird routes using scientific data. Suitable for families. Advance registration required.
The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) is hosting an event titled "Predicting the Future with Scientific Thinking! ~Where Do Migratory Birds Fly?"
This event aims to provide participants with an experience of the scientific process: forming hypotheses from intriguing questions, and verifying them through observation and experiments. Specifically, participants will predict how global environmental changes might affect migratory bird routes, utilizing the latest scientific data.
Using data visualized in the "Geo-Scope" exhibit, attendees will discuss and share their future predictions about the present and future migration paths of birds. The event is open to participants from 5th graders to adults, and family participation is encouraged.
Science Communicators will facilitate the discussions, supporting a scientifically-grounded dialogue. This offers a valuable opportunity to contemplate the future of our planet together.
