The National Museum of Nature and Science is hosting a "DNA Extraction Experiment: Let's Extract DNA from Chicken Liver" volunteer workshop. This event aims to help participants explore the "something" passed down from parents to children – DNA.

Participants will have the unique opportunity to extract DNA from chicken liver and observe it firsthand, learning about the wonders of life and the role of genes in an engaging way. The extracted DNA can be taken home.

The workshop is designed for pairs of elementary school students (grade 1 and up) and their guardians, or for children aged 4th grade and above up to adults. It will be held in the morning and afternoon sessions on two dates: Saturday, May 30, 2026, and Saturday, June 13, 2026. Please note that the morning and afternoon sessions have different target age groups.

Advance registration via lottery is required. Registration for a Miraikan ID (free of charge) is mandatory. Application periods vary depending on the event date; please check the official website for details.
