Acappella Grand Slam at Sapporo Factory: National Collegiate Competition

The "Acappella Grand Slam," a national collegiate a cappella competition, will be held at the Sapporo Factory Atrium in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. This event, launched in 2025, brings together student a cappella groups from across Japan to showcase their vocal talents and performances. The Sapporo venue provides an excellent opportunity for students from the northern regions to present the results of their dedicated practice.

Event Overview

The competition unfolds over two days of intense a cappella battles. On November 14th (Saturday), the "Northern Japan Finals" will feature 25 groups who have advanced from preliminary rounds in Hokkaido and Tohoku. The following day, November 15th (Sunday), the "Coliseum League 4th Year Division National Finals" will take place, with 15 groups of university seniors from all over Japan competing in what is likely their final collegiate performance. The venue, Sapporo Factory Atrium, offers a spacious and aesthetically pleasing environment for these performances.

Highlights

The "Acappella Grand Slam's" primary appeal lies in the unique artistic worlds created by the students and the powerful impact of live, a cappella singing. Their performances, harmonized solely by voice, are deeply moving. The high caliber of groups reaching the national finals is a must-see not only for a cappella enthusiasts but for all music lovers. The Sapporo Factory Atrium, with its atrium structure, provides excellent visibility from all angles, enhancing the overall immersive experience of the event.
