KNOW MUSIC KNOW ASIA TALK SHOW VOL.6 at Tower Records Shibuya

The KNOW MUSIC KNOW ASIA TALK SHOW VOL.6, themed "And Music Traveled Across the Middle Eastern Silk Road to China and Taiwan," will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Tower Records Shibuya store in the Jinnan area of Shibuya. This talk show series invites experts and artists well-versed in Asian music to delve into the vibrant Asian music scene. The event will take place on the B1F CUTUP STUDIO of Tower Records Shibuya, a location easily accessible from Shibuya Station.

This installment focuses on how traditional music, which traveled from the Middle Eastern Silk Road, developed and evolved within the vast Chinese cultural sphere of China and Taiwan. It will explore this evolution from the perspectives of traditional music and instruments. Following the previous "Asian Traditional Music Edition," which covered traditional music from various Asian countries like Korea, the Philippines, and Thailand, this event expands the musical journey further eastward.

The guest speaker is the musician Katsunori Ujie, who is deeply knowledgeable about Asian music and has traveled to the Middle East and other parts of Asia over 100 times. Mr. Ujie previously provided insightful explanations of Asian traditional instruments and music, including live performances, enhancing participants' understanding. Also known as a "Synthesizer Maestro," he has contributed to the development of preset sounds for major global electronic instrument manufacturers, demonstrating his expertise at the forefront of music production. His extensive knowledge and technical skills are expected to make even complex musical concepts easily understandable.

Serving as the MC is Masayasu Furya, an expert in the Japanese and Korean music scenes, who has hosted numerous K-POP-related events. The combination of Mr. Furya's engaging talk, Mr. Ujie's expert commentary, and Mr. Ujie's live performance promises a valuable opportunity to experience the depth of Asian music.

This event is free to attend, and no prior reservation is required. Attendees should gather in front of the 1st-floor staircase at Tower Records Shibuya starting at 6:00 PM on the day of the event. The talk show is scheduled to last approximately 90 minutes, commencing at 6:30 PM.
