AI Science Communicator Experiment at Miraikan, Odaiba
Odaiba's Miraikan hosts an AI Science Communicator experiment (July 15-Sep 30, 2026). Interact with AI via smartphone.
An experimental project titled "AI Science Communicator" will be held at the National Museum of Nature and Science (Miraikan) in Odaiba from Wednesday, July 15 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026. This initiative aims to explore new possibilities in human-AI relationships by developing AI based on the museum's science communicators (SC).
Experience Growth with AI
This project views AI not merely as a tool for information but as a partner that learns and grows alongside humans. Visitors can use their own smartphones to interact with unique "AI Science Communicators (AISC)" while touring the permanent exhibitions. The AISC will explain exhibits, similar to human SCs, but will also engage in dialogue with visitors, potentially gaining new perspectives and insights from these interactions. This experience offers a chance to explore how humans can share their unique values with AI and, in turn, learn new viewpoints from it, fostering a symbiotic relationship.
Easy Participation with Your Smartphone
Participation begins by scanning a QR code with your smartphone. The process includes reading and agreeing to terms (approx. 5 minutes), up to 3 hours of dialogue with the AISC, and a post-experience survey (approx. 5 minutes). For those without smartphones, rental devices will be available at a special booth on the 3rd floor, though availability is limited. The experience is recommended for children aged 4th grade and above, and minors must be accompanied by a guardian.
