Artist Talk "Deviation Game" at Miraikan, Odaiba

An artist talk titled "Deviation Game - What is Human Expression?" will be held at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Odaiba on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. This event aims to explore the nature of human creativity and expression in the era of rapidly advancing generative AI.

Event Overview

The talk session will feature Kyo Kihara, an artist and one of the developers of the "Deviation Game," an interactive exhibition that explores human creativity through an drawing game with AI, and Katsuhiro Takagi, Vice President and Head of Research at Miraikan, who is involved in AI technology research and development. Following the talk, a gallery tour will be conducted where participants can experience the "Deviation Game" exhibition alongside the artist.

This event offers a valuable opportunity to contemplate the future of creation and expression as AI becomes increasingly integrated into our lives.

Guest Speakers

• Kyo Kihara (Artist, Game Designer): Creates experimental games and installations that probe the relationship between humans and AI. Recent exhibitions include "Art Plays Games" (FACT Liverpool, 2025) and "Roppongi Crossing 2025" (Mori Art Museum, 2025–2026).
• Katsuhiro Takagi (Vice President, Head of Research, Miraikan): Ph.D. in Science. Has consistently engaged in research and development related to accessibility since joining IBM Tokyo Research Laboratory in 1999. His recent work includes the development of the "AI Suitcase," an autonomous navigation robot supporting independent mobility for visually impaired individuals.
• Kaho Sakaguchi (Miraikan Science Communicator): Facilitator.
