An event titled "AI and My Future Vision" will be held at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Odaiba on Saturday, August 8, 2026. This joint event by the Science Council of Japan and Miraikan aims to explore the diverse ways AI and humans interact. AI is already a familiar presence, assisting in tasks like writing and image generation, and its application is expanding in fields such as medicine and agriculture. This event will provide a multifaceted perspective, covering the technical aspects of AI, its societal and personal implications, and future applications.

The event is divided into two parts. The first part will feature experts from science, engineering, life sciences, humanities, and social sciences discussing the forefront of AI research, AI innovations in medicine and agriculture, and guidelines for coexisting with AI. The second part will consist of a panel and group discussion where participants can directly engage with researchers, fostering a collaborative exploration of our future with AI.

Distinguished guest speakers include Sadao Kurohashi, Director of the National Institute of Informatics; Miki Haseyama, Professor at Hokkaido University; Yasushi Okuno, Professor at Kyoto University; Shin Noguchi, Professor at Hokkaido University; Masaki Nakamura, Professor at Osaka University; and Noyuri Mima, Professor Emeritus at University of Hakodate Future University. These specialists will share their insights on the potential and challenges of AI from various viewpoints.

This event is recommended for anyone interested in AI and science and technology, as well as those who wish to consider the relationship between AI and their daily lives, society, work, and career paths. It is particularly encouraged for junior high, high school, and university students to attend, offering an opportunity to contemplate how to engage with AI in the future.

Participation for the venue is by lottery with a capacity of 200, while online participation is on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 1,000 attendees. A total of 60 junior high, high school, and university students will be selected by lottery to participate in the group discussion. Admission is free. Subtitles will be provided at the venue using a speech recognition app.
