Jin Hasegawa "Shibuya to Mori" Exhibition at Shibuya Hikarie
"Jin Hasegawa 'Shibuya to Mori'" exhibition at Shibuya Hikarie features a mini forest and train. Includes a keychain-making workshop. Free admission to exhibition.
An art event titled "Jin Hasegawa 'Shibuya to Mori' Let's Create a Living Forest in Shibuya!" will be held at Shibuya Hikarie from October 31 to November 8, 2026. This exhibition, located on the 4th floor deck of Shibuya Hikarie, aims to bring the essence of nature into the urban landscape, inspired by the creatures inhabiting Shibuya.
Exhibition: A Miniature Forest in the City
The exhibition space on the 4th floor deck will be transformed into a "small forest." A miniature train, carrying models of various creatures such as the Mandarin duck, Japanese rhinoceros beetle, Japanese pipistrelle, Japanese grass lizard, raccoon dog, and humans, will travel around this forest. The train will operate only during workshop hours, offering a dynamic visual experience. This event provides a unique opportunity to encounter familiar creatures that often go unnoticed in daily urban life.
Workshop: Create Your Own Creature Keychain
On specific dates during the event, participants can join a workshop to create "Shibuya creature keychains" alongside the artist. Using a list of Shibuya's native animals as a reference, attendees will draw their chosen creature onto an acrylic keychain. Completed keychains can be exchanged with other participants' creations via the train, fostering interaction. The workshop is free to join with a participation fee of 100 yen and requires no prior reservation. A portion of the workshop fee will be donated to nature conservation activities.
