Future of Food Talk Session @ Miraikan, Odaiba on Sep 12, 2026

The "Future of Food: What Concerns You?" talk session, held at the National Museum of Nature and Science (Miraikan) in Odaiba, invites participants to contemplate food issues and a sustainable society. This event is part of "Science Agora 2026" and focuses on "Moonshot Goal 5," which aims to create a sustainable global food supply industry by 2050.

Researchers and citizen panelists will engage with attendees to discuss the "new food" that may appear on our tables in the future, made with different ingredients and production methods. The session encourages participants to question their own perceptions, asking "Would you eat it?" and "What information would make you feel secure?" Through dialogue and a limited tasting experience, attendees can explore their thoughts and potentially identify their own criteria for making decisions about future food.

The event will feature easy-to-understand introductions to the goals of Moonshot Goal 5, research on circular food production systems, food loss reduction, and long-term food preservation. Graphic recording will be used to visualize diverse opinions, alongside research exhibits and opportunities to interact with researchers. The session is open to the public, including those not familiar with science and families.
